A Case of Malrotation of The Intestine

Abstract
Malrotation of the intestine is most often associated with midgut volvulus in the newborn infant and children.
The midgut volvulus associated congenital anomaly in infants and children is a surgical emergency because of high morbidity and mortality by ischemic necrosis of the intestine.
Early roentgenographic diagnosis followed by immediate corrective surgery and careful exploration at laparotomy for associated anomalies is mandatory.
The improvement in mortality represent a composite improvement in diagnosis, surgical therapy, and postoperative care.
Further reduction in mortality warrants aggressive diagnostic evaluation and early surgical intervention.
